Social media is a good, free and easy way to market your business especially when you are first setting up in business and funds are tight.
There are many different social media channels you can use from and it can be overwhelming. It is important to remember that you don’t have to set up accounts with all of them; just select one or two to start with.
There are many guidelines and websites which can provide guidance on setting up business accounts. It is worth checking out what social media channel your niche market and ideal customers use.
Don’t forget to:
- Fully complete your Bio/About Section
- Have a username relevant to your business
- Add a picture or logo and cover photo
Once you have set up your account; start following, interacting and posting information that your target market and audience will find interesting and relevant.
Be aware that it is easy to get distracted and before you know it, you have spent a couple of hours on social media rather than the 15 minutes limit you set yourself!
There are schedulers such as Buffer and Hootsuite which will enable you to schedule some posts but remember that social media is all about being social and interaction.
