Tips to have a productive week
It’s the start of a brand-new week and an ideal time plan for the day and week ahead. Here are some tips to have a productive week.
As busy business owners, we can put pressure on ourselves to try and get everything done and feel frustrated when we don’t achieve it. It can also be somewhat demotivating to have a very long list of tasks to do and not knowing where to start.
When planning all the tasks that need completing it is often easier to keep things simple and less complicated.
Here are some tips to help you be in control and have a productive week:
Be aware of your availability
Review your calendar for the week so you know what appointments and meetings you have. Make sure you have allocated travel time if applicable. Mark out the times you are busy and unavailable to work on your calendar.
Know your deadlines for the week
It is important to keep on top of the tasks and projects you do for your clients. Make a note of any deadlines you have for the week ahead and ensure you have time to complete the tasks.
Plan weekly goals
Make a note of the top 3 things that you want to achieve by the end of the week. These can be personal or business-related goals and are different to your client and work-related goals. Put them in your calendar or your weekly to-do list so you can refer to them.
Plan your daily tasks
Some people may work well with a long list of things to do. For others, that can be overwhelming. If that is the case, you can use your calendar or an app like Trello to make a note of the tasks that you need to do each day. That way you only need to focus on the tasks for the day. If a task is not completed, you can move it to the next day marking it as a priority.
So, be realistic with the time that you have available for today and the rest of the week to complete your tasks.
