Advertising and marketing your new business is important for small business owners but it can be challenging, time consuming and expensive.
Below are some ways that can help you market your business for free:
Use Social Media
There are so many Social Media platforms to choose from, however it is important to spend some time researching where your ideal clients and target market spend their time on social media. Set up a social media planner and strategy and focus on providing quality and posts of value and interest to your customers.
Let your friends, family and former work colleagues know about your new business venture. Your first clients may be someone you know and it is a helpful way to build up your confidence and get the word out about what you do.
Sign up to online Business Directories
There are a number of online business listings where you can add your business details for free. Some may also offer premium listings for a small fee. I am aware of some small businesses that have had contact and business through online directories.
Write a Press Release
If you are launching a new business or product, expanding your business or celebrating a success, then let your local newspapers know about it. Write a press release and send it to the local newspapers and also engage with them on social media.
Attend Networking Events
Networking is a good way to promote your business, make contacts and establish new business relationships. Check out the local press and social media for both free and paid networking events. Try a couple of different events to find one that suits you.
Send a Newsletter
Set up a newsletter and send out information on your business and products using a free email marketing tool such as Mailchimp. Add a sign up to your newsletter plugin to your website offering a freebie to encourage them to sign up.
Write a Blog
Set up a blog on your website and write about your business, products demonstrating your knowledge and expertise.
