Well, I have completed Week 1 of the free Ignite 30 Day Video Challenge.
I cannot believe that I have managed to record and upload 5 videos! I did not think that I would be able to record one video, let alone 5.
As mentioned in my previous blog post, the challenge is to help us become more comfortable being on camera. Hopefully, I will feel more confident and comfortable recording videos. I can already notice a difference in my Day 1 video to my Day 5 video.
So, each weekday in the morning, I receive an email from Niamh Arthur who is running the challenge with a video. In that video, Niamh provides a tip and a prompt to talk about.
I make a note of the tip and prompt and have a think about what I will talk about. It takes me a while to get around to doing my video as I don’t record my video until the afternoon. Tthe light has been better and as we have had some lovely sunny days, the sun has been too bright!
I have enjoyed the challenge a lot more than I thought I would
Once recorded, I upload the video to my YouTube channel and share the link to our circle in the private Facebook group. I then watch and comment on other videos in the circle. It’s great to be part of a group when we are all experiencing the same fears and supporting each other each day.
I must admit that I did worry about how I looked and sounded like on video. I really do not like having my picture taken as I don’t think I take a good picture so this has been a push out of my comfort zone. Niamh has said many times that does not matter. It is about turning up, making contact with your audience and talking from the heart. Sometimes that is easier said than done.

I will let you know how I get on with next week’s challenges!
