choosing-your-adventure

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 8

I didn’t watch this video until later in the day and had a bit of a sinking feeling in my stomach – go and have an adventure and write about it.

As it is the weekend, I hadn’t planned on catching up on my emails and that is why I missed the challenge. After watching the video, I did think maybe miss this one out but no, I have started and I will finish.

According to the Oxford Dictionary, adventure is defined as an unusual, exciting and daring experience.

That is so not me!

It made me think about what does adventure mean to me?

The first thoughts that come to mind is doing something dare devil, being spontaneous or being in some exotic place far away.

I think having an adventure means different things to different people. I have had many fun trips while on mini breaks going around the UK, visiting many historic and interesting places. Fun, exciting and spontaneous – Yes, but daring – No.

But that was not on the agenda for today.

The day started early with a trip to the gym and a spinning class. I absolutely love going to the gym and classes throughout the week. This is a statement I never thought I would write as I only joined the gym two years ago.

The afternoon involved helping my parents with some gardening. Now Summer is over, we were taking advantage of the good weather.

Not very adventurous but it was nice to spend time working out and in the sunshine in the garden with the family.

What I realise from this challenge is I need to take some time to plan some adventures and push myself to take on some new challenges.

What does adventure mean to you?
